Monthly Musical Update

Dear Parents,

This month in Music Class, Grade 3 has focused on the final belt in our Recorder Karate books, Ode to Joy.  Many students have completed the song, and are beginning to look at music for Year-End Performance. We’ve come such a long way from playing our first confident (albeit squeaky) notes on recorder and progressing to longer and longer pieces of music! Please remember over this Golden Week to have your student thoroughly clean out their recorder.

Musically yours,

Ms. Shay

Art- April Newsletter

Hello,

This month we have been discussing about what 'environment' means and how where we live, work and play affects and influences our lives and feelings. Through that we talked about the factors that enhance the quality of environment, such as light, cleanliness, visually interesting and pleasing objects or those that detract from the quality; poor light, noise and other pollution.

As an activity and project; the students were asked to choose a nearby area; playground, garden, house to show and draw its design which they will redesign the area by considering the quality of environment.

April Japanese class JNL Newsletter

Dear Parents of Grade 3

We could start term 3 successfully!
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Here is monthly Japanese class newsletter.
Please enjoy reading it.
                         Ms.Hayashi

This month, the Grade 3 students had a great time at the Kohoku public library as a fieldtrip. We learned the rules and manners at the library, how to use itat the topic“Hon o tsukatte shirabeyou” before. I hope It was a good chance to know “Reading is fun!”
The first story of this term was “Sannen touge” (in the original Korean). It is an interesting story, they enjoyed reading the rhythmical sentences that shown up the story. They wrote their favorite part of that story on their notebook.
After that, they studied the structure of the story (the four-parts; introduction, development, turn and conclusion) and have been working on writing their own story in the topic of “Takarajima no bouken”. They make an adventure story watching the map from the textbook. This work provides creativity and writing skill. They have been working hard making their own story with their imagination. Now they are writing a draft. They are going to revise the draft and finish up their story soon. Let’s looking forward to that being completed !
